Team Building +20
If life gives you lemons, you either make a lemonade, or pickles or just sell them. Complaining is not the trait of winners.
This is the final meeting of this year and we will be witnessing three graduations. TM Rajalakshmi would be graduating as a Competent Communicator, TM Priya will be graduating as a Competent Communicator and TM Binoy, our incoming President, will be completing his Advanced Communicator Bronze. Come witness the meeting as TM Alka takes on the General Evaluator role and our grammar police, Faseela rounds us all up in this exuberant meeting!
Minutes of the Meeting - Sessions
Opening the meeting
The meeting was opened by TM Rajalakshmi as TM Murtuza was not available. The meeting started just after the Club Officer Training of Division I and O. The meeting was scheduled for one hour due to Ramadan and COT.
Introducing role players
TM Sudharsana introduced the role players effectively. TM Faseela took up the grammarian role as she explained her role and the word of the day, exuberant. TM Murali took up the role of the timer for the first time. TM Alka was introduced as the General Evaluator, who would oversee all the proceedings of the meeting.
Prepared Speeches Session
TM Rajalakshmi gave a very touching and a powerful speech. The speech was her personal story. It was a story about difficult times and how she had endured it. She mentioned that Toastmasters gave her hope and how three members from the club inspired her to be a better person. Today she not only graduated in being a competent communicator, but also she graduated in life. We hope that this strong woman would do many things in the times to come.
TM Binoy took us all on a journey to visit Mr. Dracula. It was a thoroughly entertaining speech, which felt like a movie happening right infront of our eyes. The skill with which TM Binoy pulls the audience into his speech is remarkable. This master story teller has a lot in store and could possibly be our next speech champion.
TM Noor evaluated TM Rajalakshmi and congratulated her for graduating CC. He mentioned that TM Rajalakshmi did full justice to the project as she took us all on a personal journey with a lot of emotion. We were all touched by her real life story. The only suggestion was to work on her vocal variety. She is indeed one very tough woman with a lot of integrity. We look forward to many great things this lady is destined to do.
TM Alka evaluated TM Binoy for his entertaining speech. TM Binoy has a knack to paint artistic images the minds of his audience. This speech was no exception. He took us all on a horror journey to meet with a vampire. It sounded almost real. It is a potential tall tale speech. TM Alka very precisely pointed out this skill of his and mentioned that it would have been great if the manual objectives were handed to the evaluator before hand.
Our exuberant grammarian TM Faseela did a fabulous job by giving a comprehensive grammar report. Apart from her report, she urged members to follow three suggestions.
- Encouraged members to use apt vocabulary and phrases which establish a strong connection with the audience.
- To use vivid and descriptive words which will create strong visual impact.
- Use anti-thesis in speeches to show contrast and strike a common ground with the audience.
During the business session, TM Rajalakshmi invited the incoming club president TM Binoy to give a short brief about the ExCom meeting which was held previously. TM Binoy reiterated that our focus for the next three months will be to improve club quality and work on the membership.
We saw the pinning ceremony of two of our new graduates. TM Alka Kumra did the honor of pinning the graduates. TM Rajalakshmi Rajasekaran completed her Competent Communicator. We are so glad that she did it. She is our outgoing president with an undying enthusiasm and concern towards the club members. TM Priya Sara Chandy completed her Competent Communicator. She is our charter member with contagious positive energy. TM Binoy Sebastian completed his Advanced Communicator Bronze as he leads us into 2016-17 TI year!
